I really loved this novel. Switch is a lovely small-town romance, in the finest meaning of the term: Guess romances her readers with her characters, her setting, and her prose. A few magical-realist elements give me leave to list this book here. This book is all about the various loves people find, from the forbidden to the hidden, and you will be glad to have read it. lq 1999-09-01; rev. 2003-08-08.
