Review: Sam Merwin's The Sex War (1953)

Merwin, Sam, Jr. The Sex War (1953, 1960: The Guinn Company, NY).

A man inadvertently uncovers a centuries-old conspiracy of Amazon women with psychic powers to destroy men and reproduce parthenogenetically. The evil man-hungry woman is ultimately murdered; the unwitting dupe good-girl is destroyed, her impressive "grandmother", and a rather butch guard named Marty are all destroyed by an atomic bomb; and the protagonist is left with a sexy New York model Toni who "took ... little time to become pregnant" -- but in a last-page twist it turns out that she too is part of the Amazon conspiracy (which includes just about every famous woman who either ruled a country or fucked a ruler, and all the women scientists too). -- lq 5/14/00
